Potluck Lunch

After our September 9 service, we’ll be hosting a potluck lunch. We’ll be celebrating the confirmation of a few folks on that day and think it would be nice to top it off with a fellowship event. Hopefully, Bishop Jane will stay on with us after her confirming duties are done for some fellowship in the church where her career began a few years ago!

Annual Parish Summer Barbecue/Picnic

On Sunday, June 17, after our regular morning worship service, we will once again have our annual barbecue. (Call it a “picnic” if you prefer.) As usual, it will be outside on the church grounds (inside if the weather is inclement) and all are welcome. Please bring family members and friends because we love welcoming and feeding everyone!

Barbecued meat (presumably hamburgers and “tube steaks”) will be provided and cooked over open flames by some volunteers. Please bring salads and dessert to share.

Ready to Get Messy?!

Beginning Saturday, June 2 – and continuing on the first Saturday afternoon of each month thereafter – St. Augustine’s – Parkland will be hosting Messy Church.

What is Messy Church?

  • It’s a way of being church for families and involving fun.
  • It’s a church, not a craft club, that helps people encounter Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
  • They’re found across the world, in a wide variety of denominations and cultures.
  • A place where values are about being Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration.

Doors will open at 3pm each Saturday afternoon and things will wind up at about 5pm.

Supper is provided.

Please RSVP to Rev. Billy and let him know if there are any dietary concerns.

Welcome Tara!

We have filled the currently vacant parish positions of both Office Administrator and Youth Minister with one soul! Tara Munn has been appointed to both!

Tara comes to us most recently from Fort McMurray and Evansburg and has now settled in Spruce Grove.

Any email sent to staugustinesparkland@gmail.com will end up with Tara and you might find her answering the phone in the church office some times throughout the week.

Now that you know what she looks like — if you didn’t already — please welcome her into the fold and thank her for taking on these two very important positions within our church.
