Please begin to consider what new or good-as-new goods you have gathering dust in your closets, basement, or garage that you could contribute to this annual fundraising event for our church.
Normally, sometime in May, we’d be turning our church parking lot into our annual Car Boot Sale. Vestry has decided to change the format of that event significantly by having our parish instead participate in the Community Street Market event, held twice yearly in Stony Plain. This initiative will give us significantly added exposure both for the items we’ll be selling and our church. As we know, many of our parishioners come from Stony Plain and we are, essentially, the Anglican presence in that community.
The spring version of the Community Street Market is to be held Saturday, June 16 from 9am to 3pm in downtown Stony Plain. We plan on renting two or three 10 X 10′ booths and filling them with as much white elephant stuff as possible!
Some significant man/womanpower will needed to help with this event, not only to be present in our selling space but also to organize, price, and transport the goods to the market. Most of the pre-sale work is expected to be done on Friday, June 15 at the church.
